Axe weapon deals a good amount of damage and not only that, you can also hit 3 targets horizontally. Also, one of the best skills of the Axe is the Freezing Axe; it can freeze targets for two turns, leaving them vulnerable to open attacks.
At first it can only hit one target, but once it is upgraded, it can hit three targets. Aside from just freezing your opponents, they can receive damage once the freezing status has ended, when upgraded, you can even decrease your opponents' defense, magic defense and vitality, making this skill the jack of all trade. Freezing Axe is proved to be a powerful skill in disabling and eliminating boss monsters on PVEs and even against players in PVPs.
Aside from its skill, having an Axe for you main character gives you a decent amount of HP and an above average defense, making him a good front liner that is half tanker/ half disabler in battles without worrying too much of getting your main character killed easily. The bad side with the Axe main is that in the later levels, there are no additional skills that are useful to use when your main reaches high level. So grinding on higher levels will give you a rough time.
A good solution for this problem is to reorganize your formation. Instead of setting your main to the front line, you can place it on the middle line. Aside from the formation, adding another tanker to your formation and having two healers can increase your survival rate. Overall the Axe main is a good choice for newbie players of Atlantica Online.
